About us

The ICNF represents a consortium of over 50 research groups in Frankfurt, Germany. These belong to the Faculties of Medicine, Biological Sciences, Psychology and Sport Science, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science, Mathematics and Physics and in addition to the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research, the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysics and the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS).

The general purpose of the ICNF is the promotion of neurosciences in Frankfurt, with the goal of leading neuroscientific research and education in Frankfurt towards scientific excellence.

This is going to be fostered by: 

• Encouraging the exchange of ideas and communication between individual research groups

• Public relations work to promote the visibility of the Frankfurt neurosciences

• Promotion of young researchers, including establishing of a Master Neuroscience program

• International cooperation in the field of neuroscience
