Application

Application deadline for the winter semester 2010/11

is March 15th, 2010.

Send your application to: Neurosciences@uni-frankfurt.de

General requirements

  • Applicants (national and international students) must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a biomedical, bioscience or psychological field and the grade must be at least 2.5 or the applicant must be ranked among the first third of the grades of his bachelor age group.
  • In case the required degree has not been awarded by the time of application, you can still apply if you provide:
  • Proof of matriculation
  • A detailed certificate of the present status of your studies and the anticipated date of completion of the bachelor program.
  • In addition you must have achieved 150 credit points in the bachelor program with an average grade of 2.5 and the bachelor thesis should be completed or close to completion. We are aware that in certain bachelor programmes these requirements cannot be achieved at the end of the 5th semester in order to meet our deadline for application. Therefore we encourage applications with a preliminary lower number of credit points and with the bachelor thesis not yet close to completion when appropriate reasons are provided.
  • The applicant must provide prove of sufficient knowledge of the English language (not older than two years). If English is not the native language one of the following has to be provided:
  • “Test of English as a Foreign Language” paper-based TOEFL (minimum 540), computer-based TOEFL, CBT (minimum 213), internet-based TOEFL, iBT (minimum 76)
  • “International English Language Test System” IELTS (minimum 6.0)
  • A certificate confirming satisfactory knowledge of English based on a Bachelor thesis written in English issued from the faculties of “Biological Science”, “Psychology and Sports”, “Medicine” or “Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy” of the Goethe-University
  • Additional proof of English language ability is possible and subject to consultation with the program office.

Although almost every German speaks some English, a working knowledge of German is essential for daily private activities. Thus taking German courses is highly recommended.
